Bedhead

You know you've had a good nap when you wake up and your hair looks like this.....

Please note the boogie sucker....
her most hated item when I'm using it on her, and her favorite item when she has control of it.

Unfortunately the nap ended up being right before bedtime, so we'll see if she sleeps at all during the night.

I can't believe I almost missed Tayah's OALASWI (Out As Long As She Was In) day.   I was due April 11, 2010... but miss T decided to wait a little longer before she made her grand entrance.  40w 5d ago as of today, our little firecracker joined our family, and we could not imagine a single day without her.

Here is a look at miss Tayah Kennedy Pereira:

Time to Organize

As much as I love to be organized, and have everything in it's place, I have not done a very good job of that lately.  Tayah and headed out to get some containers so we could tackle the junk drawer and hopefully make it a bit less junky.  I should have known this would be what I would find ......

Babies love containers!

And what would a post be without some pics of my favorite girls....

I'm pretty sure this is the "Uhmmm kinda busy mama" look

My beautiful Amaya, after a busy day at school, looking a little ragamuffin'ish

Typical scene in our house, someone chasing Tayah.  The child can not stay in one place, EVER.

Is it really Tuesday??

So much for posting every day.  Oops.

It's amazing how your life can get so incredibly busy that the days just flow into each other. You would think being on maternity leave, I would have plenty of time to get everything done and even a bit to relax. Such is not the case apparently.

This past weekend I helped my awesome friend Josee with her Stampin' Up booth at the Wonderful Wedding Show. It was a great, but incredibly busy and tiring weekend. We talked to an amazing amount of people in a 2 day span, but had lots of fun. My feet felt like they were going to fall off by the end of the day on Sunday, but alas, we survived! I ran into so many friends it was just fabulous, some from TPI (miss my TPI peeps), some from other travel agencies, some just because apparently I know lots of people?!

Monday was spent recovering and chillin with my little firecracker.

Today was spent joining the Y, enjoying the gorgeous weather (since when did minus anything become gorgeous?!) and then out to a play with my Splurge group.

I did make time to take my camera out over the last few days, so here is picture overload......

My girls, my loves.

Looking cute even though it's way too late for her to be up.

Fresh out of the bath, enjoying a Baby Mum Mum

I'm amazed at myself for catching her in some rare non moving moments

Today also marked the beginning of sale-a-bration, Stampin' Up's biggest promo of the year!!!
I was in my happy place this morning.

Bring on the Toys & Small Successes

After Christmas, it looked like Toys R Us had threw up all over our house.  That combined with the collection of things we have not yet opened from our baby shower promted me to head to the basement and find something new for Tayah to play with today.  I loved watching her explore and squeal with delight at the lights and music.

She has also finally mastered the art of holding her own bottle.  It really is the small successes that make me so happy!

A Great Day to Stay In

After spending the week in Orlando, we of course always question why we live in Winnipeg... and this frigid weather.   Of course, Winnipeg is home and we will probably always live here, though if we can we'd love to spend winters in a warmer climate once the girls have moved out (so forever from now)

Today was so cold, -40something with the windchill, so I decided I was yet again not leaving the house.

It was nice to get back into a bit of a routine with Tayah and it was fabulous to have a highchair to feed her in again.  I decided that I would spice up her breakfast and add some cream cheese to her toast.  She was not so sure at first, but ate it all up and made a huge mess, but she was one happy baby!

Home Sweet Home

Our family loves to travel, be it a quick weekend away to Grand Forks or a week away in Orlando.  However, it always feels great to come home, to our cozy beds, and all of our favorite things.  Today was extremely cold, and we were all tired, so Amaya stayed home from school to rest and we stayed in jammies all day!

Sadly, I totally forgot to take my camera out to take even one picture.....

All Good Things Must Come to an End

We love travelling, we love time together as a family, we love Orlando.  However, all good things must come to an end eventually, and today is the day we head home.   We all had a really great vacation and have plans to make Orlando a yearly event for our little family.  It's a happy place, with fun things to do, great shopping, great food, and better weather than Winnipeg in the middle of winter.  We all had a good laugh watching people wearing big winter coats, earmuffs, scarves, mitts and touques when the temperature was +15c, silly people!

But, now it's time to return home.... a place we really do love just as much as any vacation (ok -40c isn't our favourite, but the rest is great!)

A few last pictures from Florida....

Tayah is always so curious to see what her big sister is doing.

Ahh yes, love the ipod touch!  What a lucky girl, even mama doesn't have one!

Trouble, all of the time!

9 months already!!!

Today our little itty bitty newborn is not so itty bitty or newborn anymore, she is 9 months old... wow!  She has changed so much in the last month, and we all just love her to pieces.

Funny side-note - Amaya was in Orlando on her 9 month birthday too, here she is 7 years later!

She loved when Amaya and I sang Happy Birthday to her!

We weren't sure it would ever happen, but now that she is crawling, she goes non-stop.  She loves to explore and get into everything she is not supposed to get into.  We are all having lots of fun chasing her around.  She has also learned how to wave bye and shake her head "no"... which is cute for the time being, lol.

More rides, more fun!

Since we had such a fantastic 1st day at Universal, we decided to head back and take in the other park.  Just as we were about to leave, Tayah decided it was nap time....

And then we were off....

The girls got to meet lots of characters, Amaya loved it, Tayah was a little skeptical.

And what day would be complete without the toothbrush!

We spent the day going on lots of fun rides, and just having a great time together.  And then it was all over.... and just as the day started, it ended with Tayah having a nap on the walk back to the car....

Islands Of Adventure = Great Family Day

When we were planning our trip to Orlando this time, we had decided we would not go to Disneyworld, as we had spent 5 days there last year, and lets face it, money talks.  Dino really wanted to go on some roller coaster, so off to Universal Islands of Adventure we went.  What a great decision, we all had a super awesome fablous great amazing day!  Tayah went on her very first ride, the Caro-seuss-el!

Amaya loved the Caro-seuss-el too!

After visiting Seuss Landing we headed off to Jurassic Park. We went to the discovery centre, and stopped at the nursery.  Tayah and I waited in the back, but I was watching one of the workers carefully lift a dinosaur egg out of an incubator.  Just then a small dinosaur poked its head through the egg and I swear my eyes popped out of my head.  Although I was in the back with Tayah I quickly got up to see history being made... a real live baby dinosaur.  Ok, so after Dino killed himself laughing at me, he explained it was robotic... oy not my brightest moment.  I was not going to post this, but it will be good for a laugh in years to come.

We then went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  Amaya was super excited to go on one of the rides, but was SO sad when she was told she was 1/8 of an inch too short.  Mama told her a little trick to stand on her tippy toes a bit, and off then went to try again.  Thankfully she got on and has not stopped talking about that ride since!  Here is Tayah and Mama having some laughs while we wait.

The rest of the day was spent on many other rides and just enjoying time as a family.  Here is proof that I really was on this trip... not sure about anyone else, but I am usually the one behind the camera... so it was nice of someone to offer to take this picture of our little family.

My Brave Girl

Today we headed off to another Outlet Mall for a bit.... I think we've established that I love shopping!  And then we went to Gatorland.  Although I didn't realize it closed at 5pm, we got there with about 1.5 hours to enjoy (ok, Amaya and Dino enjoyed) the gators, crocs, snakes and birds.  I have a huge fear of birds and these dudes looked mean, but I put on my brave face and followed my family.  However, the brave girl today was miss Amaya, who really wanted to hold an alligator and snake and get her picture taken!  Here she is.....

After Gatorland we headed to Outback Steakhouse for some super yumma food, even Tayah loved it!!

Woah.... yum!

Well Hello Walt, Nice to See You Again

Although we are in Orlando, we decided that we would not  be going to Disney on this vacation.  Mostly because we were there last year, Tayah is too young to enjoy any rides yet, and let's face it, it's expensive!!  However, last night we decided to head to Downtown Disney so we could get that Disney feel, for free.  Let's face it though, you can't really go to Downtown Disney without buying something.  We decided to get Tayah her first Mickey Ears, Amaya decided she needed another pair and we got some for our niece Natasha.  $70 later, the girls have lovely hats that they will never wear.

This is the get this damn thing off my head look , and don't mind the yogurt on her face, the spoon was huge!
